Associate Principal– Infrastructure Architect

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Architect with experience planning and designing IT Infrastructure for both small and large scale projects.

The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for the overall performance, standards and direction of the infrastructure architecture, including managing and delivering key Architectural ambitions.

 

As part of our journey to becoming our Customer’s Favourite Partner in Digital Life, we are transforming many aspects of our front-end, middleware and core IT services.  Infrastructure architects support this goal by:

-          Supporting Project teams to understand requirements and design, plan and implement Infrastructure services to meet project needs.

-          Managing the overall Infrastructure Blueprint and architecture, maintaining a standardized and cost effective infrastructure environment.

-          Manage inventory and costs to ensure sufficient capacity is available to deliver cost-effective Infrastructure services.

-          Collect, track and report key metrics

 

This role requires close collaboration between Development, Operations, Shared Services, IT Architecture and IT Strategy.

Your duties and responsibilities

 

Supporting Projects

  1. Collect and translate Business priorities and strategies into Architecture requirements
  2. Design and price infrastructure requirements
  3. Define and maintain standard service definitions and costing models to support current and future projects
  4. PrioritiseInfra requests and understand resource constraints with delivery teams
  5. Drive and supervise technology build, test and deployment activities with the Shared Service Vendor(s) and internal stakeholders, ensuring SLA’s are met.
  6. Assist planning, managing, and participating in the diagnosis, detailed design, and deployment of all infrastructure related processes and technologies including OS, Virtualization and Cloud Computing, Networks, Storage and Backups, IT Operations & service management tools etc.
  7. Closely collaborate with Information Security, Application and other Infrastructure architect peers on overall roadmap and priorities for the duration of the project
  8. Manage and deliver solution development and an effective technology governance process.

 

Maintaining and delivering the Architectural Roadmap

  1. Remain informed of new IT technology developments and trends; makes recommendations to management on desirable additions and developments
  2. Define, document and maintain the Infrastructure architectures
  3. Manage a roadmap of Infrastructure investments and capabilities which is aligned to future projects
  4. Identify, plan and deliverInfrastructure Architecture initiatives with a focus on innovation and alignment to the Enterprise Architecture standards
  5. Advocate Infrastructure Architecture programs and deliverables to projects and the business
  6. Performing technology evaluation and selection efforts
  7. Assist planning, managing, and participating in the diagnosis, detailed design, and deployment of all infrastructure related processes and technologies including OS, Virtualization and Cloud Computing, Networks, Storage and Backups, IT Operations & service management tools etc.

 

Cost & Inventory Management

  1. Have a full view of the overall Infrastructure Inventory and cost
  2. Manage OE initiatives and reduce infra-associated Capex and Opex
  3. Proactive Infrastructure Capacity Planning
  4. Provide input to the investment decision and Governance processes

 

Your qualifications and requirements:

  • Degree or professional qualification in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Information Technology or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years ofexperience in Infrastructure Planning, Infrastructure Architecture or similar roles
  • 2-3 years of experience designing and implementing global trusted enterprise architectures and data center solutions where trust and security are an integral part of the culture
  • Good business knowledge, with a deep understanding of domain architecture (business, information, application, technology.)
  • Deep understanding of multiple Infrastructure domains (Server & Storage, Network, Cloud, Database etc.)
  • Ability to depict the enterprise information conceptually, logically and physically
  • Ability to determine the architectural implications of business requirements
  • Operational experience in the Telecommunications industry is an advantage.
  • ITIL or other IT Governance certification is an advantage.
  • Good analytical and project management skill.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skill and interpersonal skill.
  • Strong initiative and self-start ability.
  • Strong team spirit and able to work with all levels of people.
  • Good command in both spoken and written English.
